Poetic Dialog Workshop

*ORAL INTERVENTION OF THE POETIC TEXT:

Reading and poetry performance workshop. In 3 sessions, participants will explore comprehension, as well as reading aloud and dramatic performance of the poetic text. We will learn to read Altazor, by Huidobro, in various manners, musically, for the stage, and as improvisation. The workshop will be video recorded to show how teaching and showing reading implies a creative process inseparable from writing.

* INTERVENCIÓN ORAL DE TEXTOS POÉTICOS:

Taller de lectura y ejecución de poesía. En tres sesiones los participantes explorarán la compresión, lectura en voz alta e interpretación del texto poético. Se enseñará a leer ALTAZOR, de Huidobro, músicalmente, escénicamente y a improvisar a partir de él. Será videograbado todo el taller para mostrar de qué modo la difusión y enseñanza de la lectura implica un proceso creativo indispensable para la escritura.

  2. Altazor es uno de los poemas más importantes de principios del siglo XXI por introducir en Latinoamerica las vanguardias. En su poema podemos encontrar una diversidad de recursos que trazan un recorrido por la tradición poética que lo precede hasta llegar a la propuesta más arriesgada de Huidobro, el del poema sonido. Teniendo en cuenta esto, decidimos trabajar partiendo del poema sondo como nuestro antecedente genealógico para así marcar un recorrido por los poemas que se acercan a esta poética. Por tal motivo trabajamos con la dimensión sonora y escénica de poetas como Huidobro, Pessoa, Ginsgberg y Nicolás Guillén. Con Altazor lo que hacemos es una especie de remake en el que el poetry slam y la poesía con inclinaciones sonoras se conjunten para crear un poema nuevo a partir de la interpretación oral. Debido a esto, los cantos que hemos escogido tienen elementos flexibles para la intervención oral del texto. El Canto I será trabajado en Guadalajara, el canto II en Zacatecas y los cantos I, V y VII en la Ciudad de México.

Learning poetry experience is a thing that maybe you can’t understand very well at the beginning, because you need to look at different kind of things to catch the whole package to read, and in this way, to perform a poem. A the end, you realize poetry is a long dialogue from yourself to the others, from the others to the space you read in. Obviously, poetry, as our language and communication takes a long long way but a really joyful way. We love rock and salsa”; poetry and shouts of pleasure and pain but not when they come from violence. As Led Zeppeplin says communication break down and we lie down of breathing and whispering for a change, so we try new ways in Mexico to say again poetry because slam is a really new thing here, and we know that when we talk, even when we talk with our sisters or brothers, we say things with body and words, so we feel it and do it and take it to say this thing called poem, form the past, because we change the past when we read a poem form one century ago. This our new version of Altazor, check it, its just a practice of how to read last poetry to turn it on a new one.
